Gråsten, July 3rd 2022, 5 pm - On Sunday, the Tour de France, the world's largest annual sporting event was disrupted by climate activists involved in “Letzte Generation“ and the newly founded “Sidste Generation“. Their message: "The fate of humanity could be decided in the next 3 years! What will you do?". Further disruptions of events are planned.
Climate activists entered the Tour de France track in Gråsten, Denmark, on Sunday. "Stop the fossil fuel madness" and "Only 999 days left" were the messages written on the banners unfurled by the climate activists while the peloton was still about 5 km away. This distance was chosen deliberately in order to ensure the safety for everyone involved.
In a video released today by the campaigns involved, the front vehicles of the Tour can be seen coming to a halt in front of the climate activists sitting on the road.
"We really regret disrupting the Tour de France. But as the world is under threat of going up in flames and all the warnings have been to no avail, it is our duty to sound the global alarm. Our governments cannot expect us to stand cheering on the sidelines while they are committing these unimaginable crimes.", explains Kristoffer Krogh (21), one of the Danish climate activists who disrupted the Tour de France.

Projects of peaceful civil resistance similar to Sidste Generation and Letzte Generation are currently carrying out such disruptions again and again in 10 countries under the common name 'A22-Network'. One supporter of the french “Dernière Rénovation“ campaign chained her neck to the tennis net at the French Open final and supporters of the British 'Just Stop Oil' campaign entered the track at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Until the respective governments turn away from their deadly, criminal course, there will be peaceful disruptions at numerous other events to focus the public's attention on the conscious destruction of our society by the government’s actions. These disruptions will be focused on upcoming major events where the whole world is watching. The Tour de France has also just begun.
